Itineraries

Desert and Romans (15 Days)

Day 1: Arrive Tripoli Airport and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Excursion to the magnificent Roman site of Leptis Magna with its Theatre, Forum, Baths, Sports Ground, Nymphaeum and Temples. Continue to Misrata. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Flight to Benghazi (NE Libya distance 1000km), overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Visit the Greco-Roman sites of Tocra and Tolmeita before driving to Cyrene for two nights at hotel.

Day 5: Full day excursion to the stunning Greco-/Roman city of Cyrene.

Day 6: Visit Apollonia with its picturesque seashore theatre. View the tombs of Al-Uwailiya and continue to Tobruk. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Sightseeing in the famous World War II city of Tobruk including Rommel's HQ, the Knightsbridge, The Commonwealth and German war cemeteries, and the remains of the tragic "Lady Be Good" aeroplane. Later, return to Cyrene and overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Visit the stunning mosaics of Qasr Libya and the eerie pre-Islamic temple of Slontah. Back to Tripoli, overnight at hotel.

Day 9: Tour to the Roman city of Sabratha with its stunning colonnaded theatre.

Day 10: Sightseeing tour of Tripoli including the superb National Museum, Green Square, the Church of Santa Maria, the 18th century British Consulate, the 17th century French Consulate, Arch of Marcus Aurelius and the mosques and souks of the medina where lunch will be taken. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Depart Tripoli for home.
