Ancient Cities of Northern Libya (11 Days)

Day 1: Arrive Tripoli airport and transport to hotel.

Day 2: Full excursion to the magnificent Roman site of Leptis Magna (120km from Tripoli) with its Theatre, Forum, Baths, Sports Ground, Nymphaeum and Temples.

Day 3: Flight to Benghazi (NE Libya, distance 1000km), overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Drive to Greco-Roman ruins at Cyrene, stay at hotel.

Day 5: Trip to Apollonia (Greco-Roman coastal city). Overnight Soussa.

Day 6: Trip to Slonta and then Qasar Libya, then flight back to Tripoli, overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Full excursion to the Roman site of Sabratha (70 km from Tripoli). Late afternoon flight to Sebha (1000km south), overnight at hotel or organized camp.

Day 8: Drive to Acacus area passing though Serdalus (Alawynat), Germa (Ancient City) and overnight at the organized camp.

Day 9 and11: Continue tour of the Acacus-Tadrart area visiting wadis with beautiful paintings and drawings. Overnight at organized camp.

Day 12: Drive to Mathkandaoush; visiting the graffiti (engravings) and admiring the beautiful panorama, Continue tour to the great salt lakes at Umm Alma Oasis tsurrounded by huge of sand dunes, Overnight at organized camp.

Day 13: Drive back to Sebha for flight back to Tripoli passing through Germa (old city) and Alhatyia, overnight at hotel.

Day 14: Sightseeing tour of Tripoli including the superb National Museum, Green Square, the Church of Santa Maria, the 18th century British Consulate, the 17th century French Consulate, Arch of Marcus Aurelius and the mosques and souks of the medina where lunch will be taken.

Day 15: Departure.
